On October 1, 2011, the Green Buildings Open House will tour four Brattleboro buildings, including Holton Home. This Open House is the largest sustainable energy event in Northeast, and Holton Home is proud to be a “Green” leader in the region.
You’ll see how Holton Home’s insulation, air-to-air heat exchange, and solar-heated water has conserved financial resources, improved air quality, and lightened the load on our electrical grid. The Home also recycles heavily, reducing the need to source paper, metals and plastics from nature. Holton Home composts food scraps, ensuring healthy on-site soil and nutritious production in our vegetable garden.
For inspiration and to meet professionals who can serve your own green ambitions, take the tour!
The tour starts at 10:00 am on October 1st, at the Abbott Block apartment building at 10 Canal Street (corner of Canal and South Main, across from the Brattleboro Food Co-op). For more details, visit www.nesea.org/open-house/listings/.
